Pipe freezing aims to isolate sections of pipeline for modifications through the use of liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide. Liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide is used to cool down the product within the pipeline until the product reaches freezing point, forming an ice plug (Cryogenic Cooling). This application allows access into pipeline system and avoids the need to drain down system.
